Foxyards School Curriculum
At Foxyards Primary School we aim to provide the highest possible quality of teaching and learning through a curriculum that is stimulating, challenging, exciting and memorable. We regularly review our curriculum to ensure that it is motivating to the pupils. As an inclusive school we are committed to educate and develop all our pupils and give them equal access to a broad and balanced curriculum which not only includes the National Curriculum and R.E. but also includes personal, social, health education and citizenship.
Children identified with SEND follow the schools curriculum as outlined below. To ensure all SEND children can access the curriculum resources, additional adults and smaller tasks or outcomes are provided for the children. Extra support on a 1-1 basis will occur in addition to the curriculum timetable to ensure SEND personal targets are met.

Foxyards is a Reading for Pleasure School in which we encourage the children through rewards to read a range of texts and print for pleasure. The reading scheme we use include Oxford reading tree and Project X. All our reading books are book banded to ensure texts are pitched at the correct level.
Children in Year 2 – Year 6 at Foxyards Primary School follows Read Write Inc. spelling programme for which is a systematic, robust and fast-paced scheme. Prior to this (Year 1) children follow letters and sounds up to phase 5 for their phonics learning both reading and spelling.
